Biggest Upcoming PC Games of 2027: Release Dates and What to Expect

| 2 Min Read
Fable, Exodus, and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation lead PC gaming’s early 2027 lineup, while GTA 6 and other major games remain undated.

One thing stands out about the 2027 PC release calendar: the biggest games still don’t have firm dates, while a handful of major releases are already staking out early-year slots. That gap matters. If you’re planning your gaming year, the calendar offers a few anchors, but plenty of room for delays—and guesses.

I’ve stopped trying to fit every anticipated game into our 2026 list. Gen Atlas, Blight, and The Expanse RPG may all slide into our new PC games 2027 calendar instead. Apparently, I can’t be killed by my enemies until I’ve played them. Oddly specific, but I’ll take it.

Those three still don’t have dates, and neither does Grand Theft Auto 6 on PC. Meanwhile, Fable, Exodus, and Final Fantasy 7 Revelation are among the early headliners with dates on the books. That’s a start, not a settled schedule. Here’s what we know so far.

New PC games to watch in 2027

Fable - Isabelle facing the camera

Fable

Steam | February 23
Fable’s date has shifted from 2025 to Autumn 2026 and, as we now know, into 2027. Microsoft’s run of studio closures makes it hard to feel confident about any project, even one with a famous name. Director Ralph Fulton says Fable remains safe, calling it vital to Xbox’s identity. I’m willing to stay cautiously optimistic until February.

Exodus - Jun Aslan in space armor with a griffin on the chest. He's looking at his hand as it glows with new power.

Exodus

Steam | April 7
Archetype Entertainment, a studio founded by BioWare veterans, plans to launch its space RPG early in 2027. Since EA shut down BioWare, the Mass Effect resemblance is difficult to miss. The comparison sets a high bar; the question is whether Exodus can deliver some of the same role-playing appeal.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation

Steam | April 8
Seven years after the trilogy began, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is set to bring the remake story to a close in 2027. PC players will be able to join at launch for the first time. It’s shaping up to be a big reunion—and I’m already thinking about old foes like Ruby Weapon.

Grand Theft Auto 6 - Jason driving while Lucia looks out at Vice City from the passenger

Grand Theft Auto 6 (PC)

Site | PC date TBD
The console edition is due to arrive at the end of 2026, but Rockstar still hasn’t announced when the PC version will follow. So GTA 6 makes the 2027 calendar again, this time without a date. Could PC players be waiting until 2028? I’d rather not guess. Right?

April 2027

April’s calendar has a clear headline: Final Fantasy 7 Revelation arrives April 8, billed as the finale to the remake trilogy. That makes it the month’s most consequential release, though the rest of the schedule has a few more unusual picks.

April 7 — Exodus (Steam) is a sci-fi RPG from veterans of Mass Effect.

April 8 — Final Fantasy 7 Revelation (Steam) closes out the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy.

April 27 — Mariachi Legends (Steam) is a stylish metroidvania set in Mexico. Also due that day: Pony Island 2: Panda Circus (Steam), a point-and-click horror game from the creator of Inscryption.

May 2027

May’s one dated entry has no firm day attached. Haunted Paws sounds like an unusual mix of cozy co-op and horror: players take the role of dogs on a rescue mission. The release date is still listed as “May ??,” so the timing remains tentative.

Games targeting 2027

A release window is a useful signal, but it’s not a promise. These games are currently aiming for 2027, with dates still to come; expect some of those plans to shift.

Other games to watch

There’s a longer tail of announced games that might land in 2027, including delayed projects and titles that missed earlier windows. Their dates are guesses for now; some could arrive next year, while others may remain distant prospects. The breadth of this list is striking, but a release window this loose tells you more about what’s on the horizon than what you’ll actually be playing in 2027.
