November 2026 Romance Books: New Love Stories, Cozy Witchcraft and Second Chances

| 2 Min Read
Explore November’s romance releases, from mafia matchmaking and fake dating to cozy witchcraft, sports rivals and small-town second chances.

Romance novels earn their keep in November: they offer comfort when the holidays bring more emotional complication than cheer. Hallmark movies understand the appeal of an easy happy ending, but romance writers usually give the pleasure more texture. This month’s releases range from mafia matchmaking to cozy witchcraft, with familiar tropes getting some new settings and sharp edges.

The lineup also shows how wide the genre’s reach has become. Nora Roberts is among November’s major names, while newer voices are reshaping popular setups for readers who want anything from small-town second chances to sports romance. Here are some releases to watch for, all due in November 2026.

Familiar tropes, with a twist

Engaged to the Enemy cover

Engaged to the Enemy by Lucy Smoke (Nov. 17, Forever) drops Michelle Hanson into the criminal world of mafia boss Dante Luciani after a string of accidents leaves her pretending to be his fiancée. She’ll play along, but she won’t keep quiet—and Dante is taken with her quick wit and nerve. The setup promises a rom-com sensibility inside a mafia romance, which could make this an inviting entry point for readers who haven’t tried the subgenre.

Sunflower Season cover

Sunflower Season by Danica Nava (Nov. 3, Berkley) trades the city for an Oklahoma hometown. Burned out, June Walker takes a chance on a neglected sunflower farm and runs into Noah Abbott, her first love. He never stopped loving her; whether they can move past their old heartbreak is the question. It’s a classic second-chance premise, warmed by a farm setting that suits a winter reading list.

Two Can Play That Game cover

Two Can Play That Game by Zakiya N. Jamal (Nov. 17, Berkley) pairs Chelsea, an influencer who promotes sex positivity, with rising WNBA star Adrienne “AD” Davis. They meet courtside and agree to fake a relationship: Chelsea wants a change in direction for her platform, while AD’s team hopes a steadier public image will appeal to sponsors. The usual fake-dating question follows: how long before the performance turns real?

To Vex and To Hex cover

To Vex & To Hex by Neena Noon (Nov. 3, St. Martin’s Griffin) brings a witch and a bookshop into an enemies-to-lovers setup. Lucy’s quiet routine managing a bookshop ends when her boss, Charles, has an accident and his grandson Grayson steps in to oversee the shop and Charles’s care. Lucy resents the takeover; pranks and magical barbs give way to attraction. A village witch with a bookshop is a persuasive premise all on its own.

Guard Your Heart cover

Guard Your Heart by Anna Rowan and Carla Brooks (Nov. 3, LYX) puts tennis rivals William Hagen and Theo Eastwood on the same side of a charity tournament. William’s reputation is a problem for his career, so his coach pairs him with Theo to help soften his image. The catch: the two already have history, and learning to play together is only part of the work they’ll need to do.

For the Love of K-Dramas cover

For the Love of K-Dramas by Lyla Lee (Nov. 24, Forever) takes romance to the set of a romantasy series. Clara Kim gets her breakout role and is determined to make it count, but her co-star Shin Min-joon has criticized her online. They’ll have to find a way to work together—and make their chemistry convincing on screen. The behind-the-scenes friction may be as entertaining as the show within the story.

Love, Witches, and Wahala cover

Love, Witches, and Wahala by Christine Cowan (Nov. 17, Orbit) mixes cozy fantasy with a soulmate search. Nneka’s family magic depends on her finding her match, and a curse has put a deadline on the task. Then a love potion she makes sweeps through every man in town—except Dakoru, the architect working on her house. The abundance of candidates may be less useful than the one person the potion can’t touch.

From BookTok hits to new territory

Alma Vampires cover

Alma Vampires by Elena Armas (Nov. 17, Berkley) marks a turn toward the paranormal for the author of the contemporary romance The Spanish Love Deception. Val Cepeda inherits her mother’s fashion empire and finds herself in unfamiliar territory, with Hadrian Cruz complicating matters. He’s a new thorn in her side—and someone tied to a debt a century old. The premise gives Armas room to test a very different kind of romantic tension.

Peculiar Stars cover

Two big names take romance in different directions

Rebecca Yarros is stepping back toward contemporary romance before returning to the Empyrean series. In Peculiar Stars, Callista Moran becomes engaged, then a cyclone sends her ship off course and leaves her stranded on an island. She spends the next 18 months building a bond with Dominic. The harder question comes after they return to the world they left behind: can that relationship survive ordinary life? The setup puts the romance under pressure from the start, though the description leaves the couple’s eventual fate open.

Nora Roberts, meanwhile, is trying her hand at romantasy. Birth of the Witch cover Birth of the Witch, the first book in A Coven of Three, follows Neve McShane as she approaches her 13th birthday and discovers her family’s witchcraft history. Her aunts are more than gentle shopkeepers: they’re connected to the witches of Salem. Neve also dreams of a beautiful Irish boy who can lend her magic. Roberts has explored other genres under multiple pen names, but seeing her take on the current romantasy wave is the more intriguing hook here. The book promises the opening of a richly imagined magical world.
