XO, Kitty has been waiting seven months for a decision on its next chapter, and Anthony Keyvan’s recent TikTok replies have turned that silence into fresh cancellation speculation. The Netflix series still has no official renewal or cancellation notice, so fans are reading hints where the streamer has offered none.

Keyvan’s replies fuel speculation

Keyvan, who plays Kitty’s friend Q, was asked in a TikTok comment, “AYEE WHERE IS THE NEXT SEASON.” His response — “Gonna hold your hand when I say this…” — drew thousands of likes. The thread has since grown beyond 700 comments, with other fans asking whether season 4 is still happening. Keyvan answered some of those pleas with memes, adding to the impression that the show may be finished.

He had also appeared to suggest in July that the series wasn’t returning, writing, “It’s not coming…” But those remarks don’t establish that Netflix has made a final decision. Keyvan has previously played along with fan speculation: in 2023, he responded to a claim that season 2 would not happen with “There is no season 2.” The show was later renewed.

Netflix’s decision remains open

Netflix has neither renewed nor canceled XO, Kitty. The publication contacted the streamer for comment on Friday and had not received a response at the time of writing. Keyvan hasn’t publicly cited a decision from Netflix, and his comments could reflect his own assumptions rather than inside information.

Anna Cathcart, who leads the series as Kitty Song Covey, said in May that season 4 was “such a big question mark right now” and that the cast was waiting for an answer. No further update has come from the lead cast or creator Jenny Han. A fan also pointed out on October 30 that Cathcart’s social profile no longer mentioned the series, though that change alone doesn’t clarify its future.

A fourth season is only one possible route. In July, we reported that Deadline said Paramount Television Studios had extended Netflix’s option on the series, giving the streamer more time to decide. The possibilities included another season, potentially in Seoul or a different setting, or a movie that would conclude Kitty’s story. Cast options were extended as well, keeping the actors available for further production.

A film would fit Han’s past work: the To All the Boys story unfolded across three movies, and The Summer I Turned Pretty is set to receive a film follow-up after three seasons. Keyvan’s cryptic posts could signal that the series is ending, but they don’t tell us whether Netflix might choose a movie to close it out.

Why the wait stands out

The delay is unusual for XO, Kitty. Netflix renewed its first season less than a month after its May 18, 2023 premiere, announcing the decision on June 14. Season 2 premiered January 16, 2025, and received a renewal on February 14. Season 3 arrived April 2, 2026; seven months later, its status remains unresolved.

Viewership gives Netflix a reason to consider another installment, though the figures have declined with each season. Season 3 debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s English TV chart with 12.9 million views and reached 29.3 million views through June 30. That placed it at No. 16 in the streamer’s What We Watched report for the first half of 2026.

Season Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 3-Week Total
Season 1 14.2M 12.5M 5.9M 32.6M
Season 2 14.2M 9.2M 3.7M 27.1M
Season 3 12.9M 7.8M 3.0M 23.7M

Season 3’s three-week total was 23.7 million views, compared with 27.1 million for season 2 and 32.6 million for season 1. Its week-three audience was 12% below season 2 and 27% below season 1. That’s a clear decline, but the available figures don’t show a collapse in demand.

The extended silence leaves the next step difficult to read. A fourth season remains possible, as does a final movie; Keyvan’s TikTok comments don’t settle the question. Netflix’s announcement will determine whether Kitty’s story continues on television, moves to a film, or ends here.
