The IMAX rollout for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth has a wide footprint on paper, but its venue map shows how uneven that reach is. As of November 2, the official site listed 523 locations across roughly 55 countries and territories. More than 40% are in the United States, Japan is the second-largest market, and several major countries—including Australia, France, India and South Korea—had no listed venue.
The David Fincher-directed film, written by Quentin Tarantino, is a follow-up to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It opens in IMAX on November 25, 2026, for a two-week exclusive theatrical run before arriving on Netflix on December 23, 2026. The schedule gives the release a defined cinema window, though the decision by two major US chains to sit it out limits its access to some of the country’s largest audiences.

The current count is close to TheWrap’s estimate of about 550 screens worldwide, including approximately 200 in the US. The official cinema map is the source for the venue counts below; those figures can change as the release approaches. Netflix is expected to report box office results, as it has for La Bola Negra and The Mosquito Bowl. A trailer reportedly played alongside the re-release of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood over the weekend, and a final trailer is expected soon. One source told the publication it runs for more than three minutes.

AMC carries the largest share
AMC accounts for 187 of the listed venues, making it the release’s largest exhibitor by a wide margin. All but one of those locations are in the United States: 186 are American, while AMC Stars Avenue 9 in Jeddah is the sole Saudi Arabian venue. AMC’s European reach also includes its Odeon Cinemas Group businesses, whose ODEON, UCI and Finnkino brands add 32 venues. ODEON alone has 21 locations, including 19 of the UK’s 24.
Outside those groups, the map relies on a mix of local and regional chains. Japan has several operators with substantial counts, while Cinema XXI leads in Indonesia and TGV and GSC together account for 16 Malaysian venues. The table lists chains with at least five locations.

The US list extends beyond AMC, with 33 additional venues that include Megaplex, Reading Cinemas and Galaxy Theatres. Netflix’s Paris Theatre in New York and Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre are also included. The UK map has no Cineworld or Vue locations, leaving ODEON and independent venues such as BFI IMAX in London and Glasgow Science Centre. Cineworld’s wider group is represented elsewhere: Dublin’s Cineworld and seven Cinema City sites appear on the list. Tarantino’s New Beverly is also slated to show the film, with the Vista joining it in December for 35mm screenings, according to TheWrap.

Regal and Cinemark opt out
Regal and Cinemark, two of the three largest US theater chains, aren’t participating. IndieWire reported that the decision removes about 100 Regal IMAX screens and roughly 20 Cinemark screens from the release. IMAX typically determines what films play on its screens, but its late entry into this release allowed individual chains to opt out.
That choice could benefit The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, which is scheduled to enter its second week over Thanksgiving. Regal also linked its decision to the length of the theatrical window. “Shortened theatrical windows have a direct impact on those decisions,” Brooks LeBoeuf, Regal’s Senior Vice President of US Content, told TheWrap.
The US leads, but Japan stands out
The United States has 219 venues, nearly three and a half times Japan’s 63. Japan’s total is almost three times the UK’s 24, putting it firmly in second place. Indonesia and Malaysia also have stronger representation than several larger European markets. Ecuador’s nine locations exceed Germany’s five and Italy’s seven, while Mexico and Brazil each have just two.
| Region | Countries and venue counts |
|---|---|
| North America | United States (219), Canada (21), Mexico (2), Costa Rica (1) |
| Asia | Japan (63), Indonesia (18), Malaysia (17), Taiwan (10), Philippines (8), Singapore (5), Kazakhstan (4), Kyrgyzstan (2), Azerbaijan (1), Georgia (1), Mongolia (1), Uzbekistan (1) |

Within the US, California leads with 38 listed venues, ahead of Florida at 19, Texas at 18 and Illinois at 15. The distribution suggests a release shaped as much by local exhibitor participation as by the film’s global branding: a high count in a market like Japan sits alongside blank spaces in other major territories.
Several major markets have no listings
The current map has no venues in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, South Korea, Thailand or Vietnam across Asia-Pacific. European gaps include Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Hungary, Romania, Russia and Turkey. Chile, Colombia, Peru and Israel are also absent.
Some omissions may reflect an incomplete map. Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam and Colombia appear in the site’s location settings, so venues could still be added. France, India and South Korea don’t appear in those settings. The list is therefore a snapshot of current availability, rather than a settled account of every market that will get a screening.
Tickets and the release window
Nearly all venues were marked “Coming Soon” on November 2. Only four had begun selling tickets: TCL Chinese Theatre, the New Beverly, the Vista and AMC Schererville 16 in Indiana. Viewers can check for updates on the official Find a Cinema page.
The first trailer is available online, and Tarantino recently screened the first 17 minutes at AFI Fest. With tickets still rolling out and the venue map subject to change, the practical measure of this release will be how many of its listed locations turn into available seats before the two-week IMAX run begins.
