Farming Simulator 23’s run on Netflix Games ends November 20, 2026, after nearly three years and millions of downloads. Players can keep using the game through November 19; after that, the Netflix version will stop launching, and its locally stored progress won’t transfer. The cutoff matters because access and ownership aren’t the same thing here: a player may have put substantial time into a farm without having a save that can move to another edition.

A top Netflix Games title exits

Giants Software’s farming sim joined Netflix Games on November 21, 2023, alongside Football Manager 2024 Mobile, CoComelon: Play with JJ and Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold. Its departure comes one day before the service anniversary. That timing gives the game a run of almost three years in the catalog, long enough for it to become a familiar option for subscribers who wanted something slower paced than a typical mobile session.

The game became one of Netflix’s most widely downloaded releases. App analytics firm Appmagic estimated it had reached 5.8 million downloads within its first year, placing it among the platform’s ten most downloaded games at the time. Google Play now lists more than 5 million installs and over 42,000 reviews, with a 4.4-star average. Those figures measure different things—downloads, installs and player ratings—so they shouldn’t be treated as a single measure of how many people still play. Still, they point to a release that found a sizable audience.

It also kept players engaged well beyond launch. In an analysis of Netflix’s daily top-playtime charts from May through August 2025, Farming Simulator 23 ranked 14th across the period. That sustained audience makes the removal a notable loss for a game that had carved out a steady place in the catalog. This is more significant than it looks: a title can remain useful to a subscription service even when it isn’t a new release, especially if it gives players a reason to return regularly.

The Netflix edition included the full game without a purchase price or in-app purchases. Players could manage farms across the Amberstone and Neubrunn maps, use more than 100 licensed vehicles from brands including John Deere, New Holland and Fendt, raise livestock, log timber and assign AI helpers. Offline play made it practical for travel, too. The package offered a fairly broad slice of the farming routine in one place, with different tasks giving players reasons to keep developing a farm rather than finish a short sequence and move on.

Mobile versions remain available

The game will still be sold on mobile after its Netflix exit. Giants Software’s standard Farming Simulator 23 Mobile costs $7.99 on the App Store and Google Play, with optional coin packs and vehicle add-ons. Netflix saves are stored on the device and won’t carry over, so returning players will need to start a new farm. That changes the practical calculation for subscribers: buying the standard edition restores access to the game, but it doesn’t preserve the work already done in the Netflix version.

Players looking for a newer entry can turn to Farming Simulator 26 Mobile, which launched for iOS and Android on May 19, 2026, at the same $7.99 price. Giants Software has not announced a Netflix edition. Netflix added a newer Football Manager installment after a delay, but there’s no indication it plans the same route for Farming Simulator. The comparison shows that a Netflix departure doesn’t tell players whether a replacement will arrive; each game’s future on the service appears to require its own announcement.

If you’re working through a long-running farm, the short window changes what’s worth doing: finish any task you care about, and make plans for a fresh save if you move to another version. No transfer path is available in the information provided. A new purchase, then, means starting over.

Part of a wider catalog turnover

Farming Simulator 23 is the second game from Netflix’s November 2023 lineup to leave this month. Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold is scheduled to shut down on November 9. Two departures from the same launch group don’t establish a single cause, but they make the age and continued availability of Netflix’s game catalog a more visible question for subscribers.

Netflix has removed more than 50 games since December 2024, including a group of more than 20 titles in July 2025 and another batch in December. Its library now contains around 100 games, while the company’s focus has shifted toward TV party games, children’s titles and games based on its own shows. A smaller catalog can still serve subscribers, but repeated removals make it harder to assume that a game will remain available for the length of a player’s interest in it.

Netflix hasn’t explained why Farming Simulator 23 is leaving; licensing is the likely factor, as with previous removals. That remains an inference, rather than a stated reason. For players, the deadline is clear: finish any open seasons by November 19, or prepare to rebuild on another version. Here’s the thing: keeping a game in a subscription catalog is a continuing decision, and players bear the cost when that decision changes in the form of lost access and stranded progress.

What the departure means for players

For Netflix, the exit fits a catalog that’s being reshaped around other kinds of games, including titles tied to its shows and experiences designed for television. That direction may make the service more distinctive, but it also means a popular mobile game can leave even when players have kept using it. The numbers here are underwhelming as a guide to what happens next: downloads and chart placement show past reach, not whether Netflix will renew access or replace the game.

For subscribers, the immediate lesson is simple: treat a subscription game as access that can end, and check whether its saves can travel before investing heavily in a long-running playthrough. Farming Simulator 23’s Netflix edition offered a full game without a separate purchase, but its local saves and fixed end date make that arrangement temporary in a very concrete way. If Netflix wants players to build habits around its games, continuity will matter as much as the size of the catalog.
